Undeniably the Best Baby and Parenting Store in Toronto (and possibly the whole GTA)
Ok guys, I’m going to share something with you. It’s a gem in this great city of Toronto. It has everything you could want for your child’s needs, including an awesome selection of cloth diapers (so many in fact that there is a separate room in the back FILLED with cloth diapers - be still, my heart).
This place I speak of is called Ava’s Appletree.
Ava’s is a boutique store located in the Upper Beaches run by the wonderfully knowledgeable Alexandra, and has a focus on natural parenting needs. That means it carries items that you’re not going to find in your generic Toys ‘R’ Us. Let’s be honest, big box stores are great for some things, like strollers, but really lack in offering unique items that are eco-friendly. And knowledgeable staff? Not so much in my experience.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against big box stores, but sometimes I get tired of seeing the same things over and over again, you know?
And that’s why I love Ava's Appletree - if you have a question related to cloth diapers or baby-wearing, this is the place to go. In fact, I was introduced to Ava’s by a friend who travelled from the west end of Toronto (basically the other side of the world) to buy a baby carrier because she could try them on and get advice on which brand and style was best suited for her body and lifestyle. Try getting that kind of service and knowledge in a big box store.
If, for some reason, you can’t make it into the store itself (and by the way, there’s ample street parking in the area along Kingston Rd.) you can shop the online store instead AND get reward points that can be used toward your purchase.
If you’re already in the east end of the city I highly recommend checking it out. They even carry a line of natural, eco-friendly nail polish, which I’ve actually been eyeing for myself. And if you’re not in the east, it is still highly worth the trip - or shop online in your underwear (you know you do it!)
(And no, I am in no way affiliated with Ava’s Appletree, it’s just one of those places that I think every Greater Toronto Area parent should know about.)
So, you’re welcome!
